Rent check

Hi All,
I am new to this forum. Can Gurus help me with my question?
My employer said he can pay my rent check. I am working on hourly basis, he said he can pay rent check so that I can save some tax money. Is it OK? Am I run ion to any IRS problems etc.,? Please advise..

Btw, if we have apt. lease on company name, can they do this??

What is per-diem? What is the maximam amount employer can give as a per-diem in NJ area?? Please advise...

You should be able to get the employer to pay for your rent. You will just have to pay the taxes on the benefit. Consultants that work at remote client sites do this. I'm not sure about annual limits, if there are any.
