how do i remove the conditions on my ssn card, it says its only valid with a work permit, i do have a work permit but i just got my CONDITIONAL green card for 2 years.

Question 2: When applying for a job, can i check the "permanent resident" thing?

there is no option for "temporary 2-year greencard holder"................

THANKS YALL!!!

1: You can visit a Social Security office with your green card and SS card and apply for an updated card with the work restriction removed.

2: You are supposed to check "permanent resident" on the I-9. But that's after you've already gotten the job; before giving you the job they're not supposed to ask about your immigration status other than whether you're already authorized to work in the US. Unless it's a government or government-related job that requires citizenship.

Just for the record, your 2 year conditional GC is your new "work permit" :)
In other words, you can easily wait, if you want to, until you become a citizen to have that legend removed!!!
