Removal of Conditions from Temp GC...

if i get interview before the date of our second anniversary, then I will receive a temproray GC subject to removal of conditions. How lond do I have to wait before i can file to remove those conditions and what is the process for it? please share your experiences. I hear that some people get permanent GC even though their marriage is less than 2 years.

you have to wait 2 yrs (21 months technically) before you apply I-751 to remove temporary conditions...
 
the requirements are clearly mentioned at the USCIS web site.
the main thing is to get 2 affidavits to prove that the marriage is still going strong...

Swaiting, I don't know if you are familiar. I would appreciate any response. I have several questions concerning I-751
1? Preparer of the@ Affidavits - can it be anyone cllose to us, a friend, a relative etc
2? Is there any specific format of the Affidavit. Or it's plain text. It sounds to me that it just looks like a letter of refference, that probably has to be verified by a notary as well.
3? are all the supporting documents really ALL :eek: THE Documents for the duration of your marriage. It's 24 and more months worth of paper - statements, bills etc. It sounds crazy.

We are still 20 months away from sending The I-751 but I want to outline what's gonna be in future.

first of all congrats on getting your GC finally.
Secondly I am also a good 6 months away from it so have not paid much attention. If I get some specific answers I will post.

a) The affidavit can be from friends, relatives etc.
b) Its similar in structure to the Date of Birth Affidavit and like you mentioned has to be notarised.
c) the supporting documents can be some house bills like electric, bank, photos etc, kids photos etc... Dont have to give details for full 24 months..

It seems like removing the conditions is a lot less complicated.I'll definately be back with more questions though :)
I guess there should be substitute only the circumstances (birth with marriage) add the 2 names of the USC and the applicant and a touch here and there.
