removal of conditional status

Can someone tell me: Is the permanent greencard granted 2 years after the conditional greencard was granted? or 2 years after the date of the marriage?

i'm just wondering because i get the impression that if you're married for at least 2 years BEFORE you apply for the greencard, that makes you exempt for the 2 year conditional period.

If you are already married for 2 years when you apply for the initial AOS (ie.I-485),you will get a 10 year card.
But if you are married for less than 2 years when you apply for your initial AOS ,you will get a 2 year conditional GC.
You can then apply for removal of the condition two years from the date your conditional green card is approved.

Let me correct myself....

If you are already married for 2 years at the time of the approval of the initial AOS (ie.I-485),you will get a 10 year card.
But if you are married for less than 2 years at the time of the approval of the initial AOS ,you will get a 2 year conditional GC.
You can then apply for removal of the condition two years from the date your conditional green card is approved.
