Remote work - TN amended petition

My employer petitioned for TN extension using form I-129 and due to remote work policy, I will be working from home rather than office location which was originally listed on my petition. Nothing else has changed with Job Title, duties and salary etc. Does this mean that amended petition need to be submitted to USCIS?

How is amended petition using form I-129 different than extension petition like processing time, cost etc.? Can the same changes of amending TN status be made at the border crossing rather than filing I-129 ?

As form I-539 was filed for dependents to get TD status at the time of TN extension, is there anything that needs to be done for TD dependents as well when applying for amended petition of I-129 for TN status?

TNs (unlike H1-B) are not ties to a particular geographic location. There is no provision to submit any paperwork to USCIS (or at the border) for simply a change in work location. This is a non-event for your TN, and your dependent TDs.

If however, your over-zealous employer has erroneously made such a filing, and it is approved, your TN will have a new expiry date, and presumably the TDs will follow. Do not go to the border for any of this.

It is quite possible, if your current TN is more than 6 months away from expiry, that the extension will be denied as being sent in too early.
