Religious Visa Problem

Hello everyone,

I have a very difficult question to ask. What does a person do if you know of someone who entered the USA on a religious visa, to work in a religious setting as prescribed by the rules of the visa, but then discover that the person is actually working illegally and receiving payment for such work, outside of the religious environment? Is there something that can be done to such an individual, or are there no laws in place for such actions?

Thanking you in advance.

I dont mean to sound harsh but why does that matter to you? Why do you care? Everyone has to live and survive so the fact that the person is doing something other than what they were prescribed should be none of your concern. How does that person working affect your life? My goodness, get over yourself.

I am afraid you have missed the point. What part of visa fraud and working illegally do you not understand? Please don't insinuate that it is me, unlike many others, I have gone through the immigration process and feel strongly against those who come to the USA and abuse the system. This is why the system is messed up, because narrow minded individuals turn a blind eye to illegal activity. It matters to me, and hopefully to other law abiding folk in the USA who fund and finance these illegal activities when it comes to abusing the medical system, using our tax dollars to take advantage of services they are not entitled to etc etc...I beg to differ, you are the narrow minded one and need to think outside the box especially when it incurs an injustice on a system meant to help, but is abused by those who pretend to be something they are not. This is a selfish introspective response, you didn't sound harsh, but you did offend by way of not concerning yourself with illegal activities...that is just sad.

And like I said, get over yourelf. What's this one person working going to do for you? If you're so concern about your tax dollars then do the whining somewhere else. You got people on welfare, not entitled; you got banks getting tax credits and free money from your taxes -> entiteld? Come'on man, get over yourself. You have your papers so go now and sit down somewhere. Live and let live, my friend.

So_Special....you are extremely narrow minded - please don't call me your friend, with friends like you who needs enemies? This is why the system is messed up because folk like you want it handed on a silver plate and won't bat an eyelid to illegal matters that concern the Homeland.

I won't waste my time on this lopsided forum...good luck, and find some real friends, and you yourself get a life.

Asta la Vista - and i won't be back...carry on whining and getting nowhere.

1. What is R-1 religious worker visa?

The R-1 religious worker visa is a nonimmigrant visa which allows foreign nationals in religious occupations to enter into the U.S. and perform the duties of a religious worker.
2. Who is eligible for R-1 visa?

You must be a foreign national who, for at least the two years immediately preceding the time of application for admission, have been a member of a religious denomination having a bona fide nonprofit religious organization in the U.S.
3. How can I qualify as religious worker for R-1 visa?

To qualify for R-1 visa, you must be one of the following:

• Minister of religion
• Working in a professional capacity, either in a religious vocation or occupation
• Other religious worker working in a religious occupation or in a religious vocation

Pity there are narrow minded people on a forum like this. Want it handed to you on a platter - shame on you, insulting people you don't know. Next time think before you judge, you have no idea who I am or where I have been or what I have accomplished in life. being narrow minded is an illness - get it looked at soon.

You have again missed the point - you do not come into the USA with a religious visa and illegally work, earning money under the table, burdening the working society that still have jobs, paying taxes to look after illegals and funding such activity.

You have only to look in the mirror - the reflection will astound you - you are the very thing you call others. Shame on you. Don't bother reply, have left this forum as it has member adherents who blatantly disregard law. Again, egg on your face and shame on you.

Save your insults for your wet back comrades...water off a ducks back here.

At such a point you remind yourself of Chairman Mao's famous quote, "Religion is poison", and move on!!!
