Relief for Retrogression , 90,000 visa recapture (News)

A bit relief....
But is it approved by the congress and signed into a law

Usually it takes about 3 months to go into effect

I will say special prayer of thanks to Allah s.w.t.

Bhai.. jaldi se official khabar la.

Even though I am so close to my freedom (my pd 1/23/1998), I have been feeling pain of my fellow GC seekers. Unlike catdog, alhindi etc who enjoyed our panicking.

I sincerely pray that this be the true news. and also pray that retrogession end forever.

Prince.... you are one of the gems of this forum.

Three months before it becomes a law!!!

If things move that fast, the activities on this forum would come down by atleast 50%. Most of us would get back to living the life that we dreamt of when we took our first step on this land of opportunity.

I am kind of tired of complaining. Hopefully GC would come before I lose the enthu over my career

Guys

I read the whole doc....

If it is approved....unused H1s will used for Nurses(severe shortage)

I am afraid---f they increase the H1s, just like this, then there will be severe competition among us and the salary will go down. One fine day we have to give up GCs and walk back--that is for sure.

Good and bad. Outsourcing is the best but lawyers hate it.

So they are trying to prove otherwise.

It is a waiting game.

danp..,
you read it wrong....

Your proposal also includes a provision that “recaptures” previously authorized but unused H-1B nonimmigrant visas. Because nurses do not qualify for H1-B visas, ---Nurses dont qualify for h1b1 ..i am not sure...

Before making it final, I think Judiciary Committee is confirming with "American Hospital Association" to make sure the

Recapture of unused visa's...
Exemption of spouses and children of employment-based immigrants from the numerical limitations.
About the new fee of $500 on each petition especially ....etc

is ok for themmm.

Thanks to American Hospital Association for supporting the changes... else we might have been in big trouble ...

Good luck to every one...I see a an end to retro...

Also this memo states 85K visas was used by EB3 in 2004 around 52% is used for dependents. With the current 2005 first quarter quota of 35k plus 90 , i think they might be able to accomodate around 300k visa's for primary and dependents...
Wish they give me two numbers...

:) :) :) :)

Temporary Relief

I see this a temp relief.
We should continue to ask for removal of per country limit and that they should increase the number of immigratn visas to 290K, etc.
There are lot of people in the pipeline who will be applying for GC in the next few years. We should think ahead and ask for long term solutions for legal immigrants.

I agree with you...
What ever they are giving is a temporary relief. these numbers can not be lasting for more than four months. And with this change, i doubt the Priority dates will be current. Probably they will move until 2003-2004...

We should never stop this fight....
