I have seen several posts in this forum recommending N600 for minor kids even though US passport is considered sufficient. Reasons quoted are:
1. If you lose passport, the certificate is the only way to prove your status.
(well.. If you lose certificate, then what ? )
2. Some universities may ask for the certificate during admissions.
I heard that if you update the kid's social security card status, that is all is needed. During admissions, you are asked just the social security number alone. That is supposed to take care of everything.
I just got my citizenship. I want to Return to India this year. If I have to get the certificate for my daughter, it will be delayed by an year based on the current processing times. I could delay it provided it is needed.
Any suggestions/comments ?.....
thanks
