Rejection Notice!?

I filed my I-485, I-130 and I-765 on April 11th. Their RD is April 13th.
The ND is April 18th, but I just got it today (April 26th).
The notice says: "The check amount is incorrect or has not been provided. The correct filing fee is $315...."

I sent three checks; one of $315 for I-485, one of $185 for I-130, one of $175 for I-765 and one of $70 for fingerprinting. As far as I know, those are the correct fees. All of the checks were returned with a stamp on the "Pay to the order of" part. We wrote "Immigration and Naturalization Service", and they stamped "U.S. Department of Homeland Security Citizenship and Immigration Services".

Could the name be the reason why I got the rejection notice?
Please answer, I want to file them again ASAP!

Thanks,

Celeste.

Checks

Checks should have been made out to USCIS look on the form. Reissue the check and send the forms back to USCIS.

Thanks, Tony, if that was the only problem, I'm glad, I'll send them right back. But not the notice gave me an applicant number, that starts with A....
Should I add that number to my applications now??
And the notice also says to mail it to the P.O. Box address. I shipped it with UPS last time, and was planning on doing the same this time, should I send it to the express address then (427 S. LaSalle – 3rd Floor), or the P.O. Box?

Thanks,

Celeste.

Also, my I-765 application says "Make check or money order payable to Immigration and Naturalization Service", I guess it must be old or something. How exactly should I write their name then?

Thanks,

Celeste.

checks

I made my check payable to "USCIS" and that is it. Look at the USCIS website for forms and then read the directions on the form. IT says "USCIS".
Lable each check for each appliction, like staple the check to each application and write on the check for what appliction.

You can send it to either address, the Lasalle address is for overnight couriers like, UPS or FEDEX. The PO Box is for the Postal Office.

Thanks again, Tony :)

Do I have to add the Applicant number that's in the notice to the forms now?

Last question, promise :P

Thanks,

Celeste.

Please, anybody who's received a rejection notice due to the checks... can you advice me??

Thanks a lot,

Celeste.

Resubmission

You should include a copy of the rejection notice with your package and preferably a cover letter explaining the issue. If they have assigned an Alien number for you, you may use it (Check that with an expert though).

Also make sure that you are using the acceptable revisions of all forms. I had a rejection on my I485 because the form that I picked up from an ASC was rev.02 and the only accpetable one is I485-N rev.00 (two years older than that I used!).

Ok, just in case someone else is going through the same problem, I called the USCIS and asked them what I had to do now. They told me the checks have to be made payable to the Department of Homeland Security, and attaching a copy of the notice is only necessary if they specificly ask for it on the notice. Given that they don't all that one needs to do is attach the correct checks, and send the forms back as they are.

Thanks to all of you for your help,

Celeste.
