I have been on B1 / F1/ H1 earlier during my stay in US
My H1 application was rejected in 2002 and was subsequently approved.
The renewal H1 application has been rejected again under 221(g).
I have an approved AP. Am wondering if I should reapply for H1 or just return on AP. Don't want to cross paths with Uncle Sam by not applying for H1 but don't want to take risk of getting denied either. Any advice will be useful

221g

221 g rejection means insufficient documentation.

did you?
1. laminate ur certificates
2. osmania univ bachelors
3. LCA missing in I-129 PETITION documents submitted to USCIS
4. commerce background education

these are reasons; generally u get 221 -g in chennai consulate.

No

to all of the answers
On the contrary
Masters in CS from US ; IIT EE ; same employer throughout in US

I know that 221(g) is insufficient docs - the problem is that should I go and grovel before the visa officer or should I just return and continue on AP.

There have been at least one case where it seems that the visa officer recommended that H1 petition be revoked. Hopefully that is an isolated occurrence

mazdur_desi,

I would definitely advise you to enter the country on AP, and since everything is Kosher on on that front, you should have no problems entering the country, and as far as H1 is concerned go ahead and reapply for H1, 221(g) is not sufficient cause for permanent ban, the idiot IIO probably opened your file wrong a few papers fell out. Don't see any reason why your H1 should be denied.
