Registration when traveling using AP

I have used my AP few times traveling outside the United Stes. I was wondering if I need to go to the immigration office at the airport prior to my departure each time i'm leaving the country and let them know so that they can enter my information to their system. I know that this was necessary when I was on my F1 visa. But im not sure if I need to do this when Im using AP. Anybody can comment on this?
