Registered Marriage in New Delhi (India)

It takes a days time ( about 2 -3 hours ), make sure you have all set before yuo head out there, you need money/money and money to get things moving your way.

I understood money part.

I heard that one need to do ceremony in temple, get certificate from temple authority and then apply to register marriage otherwise there is 30 day wait. Is that true?

Also, do you know any temple in Delhi where it takes a day or so to get certificate? Also how long it takes to register marriage after submitting papers in court? What are the documents required? Do we have to take attorney along?

When I got married in 2003, after our wedding we went the next day to the court, hired an attorney, provide him the list of documents and in about 2 -3 hours the judge called out for us, asked us to submit all documents that we had given to the attorney and issued us the marraige certificate. This is the process that I am aware of.

He issued 2 certificates one for me And one for my wife, for your ref.
