Can someone tell me about getting registered marriage before the actual ceremony to speed up the paperwork. Any issues with getting
H-4 visa for the spouse??

As long as you have marriage certificate, some photos and fake wedding card (if you have), there will not be any problems for H4

Yes, you can go for a registered marriage before your actual marriage. The process is simple. Search on web for "Registered Marriage in India". You will get much info..

Remember however, that if your wedding date is near, you should act now. You have to give 30 days notice for your registered marriage.
 
But doesnt the Visa Officer need to see Actual wedding pics?

Its a good idea to get it beofre hand, but just wondering if
you could run into soem scrutiny if they donot see some
*wedding pics*..like any tarditions you follow or very least some court marriage pics?

what do you all think?

Thanks for your input. Why would it take 30 days to register a marriage? Is there a way to avoid this length of time?
 
It takes a few minutes for marriage

It takes few minutes for marriage. But you have to give 30 days advance notice for that.

When you give the notice, they will display it on their noticeboard, open for public view. If no one objects on your marriage within those 30 days, you can go and marry anyday, within 3 months.

Remember : 30 days notice is required for registered marriage (court marriag, as we call) and not for marriage registration (ie registering after traditional marriage).
