Regarding tickets for employee

Hi,

One of my friends who is in India - recently got his H1 approved with the new employer.The employer is saying that he needs to book his tickets on his own and travel to US.After a period of 6 months,they will reimburse.Also, they are not sponsoring tickets for his wife at all.

Do you think this is legal? I thgt the company was supposed to bear all ticket expenses for the employee and his wife,correct?

------------------- He can book his tickets and later can get ticket payment the from employer. for his wife ticket he has to pay not employer
they are not sponsoring tickets for his wife at all.
-------------employer is not supposed to pay for wife ticket as employer has not filed H1 for his wife
Do you think this is legal? I thgt the company was supposed to bear all ticket expenses for the employee and his wife,correct?
