To all,

I know Kashmir has trying contacting Sen. Feinstien.
But this is I saw a new bill intorduced(ofcourse not passed) in congress which goes beyong Pre. Bush. This is give total amensty to some people.

In this article they have clearly mention that sen. Feinstien is imp. to contact.
Can't we again contact her by saying that Please first look into backlog problems which we(employment base visa's ) facing before passing out new law.
Asevery time some thing comes up and USCIS have excuse to delay our processing and it keeps on delaying.

If you want to pass this law then make AP and EAD valid uptill we do not hear regardin our 485 approval.?

Any support ...

Dear xxxxxx:

Thank you for taking the time to write to me about problems with
the Bureau of Citizenship
and Immigration Services (BCIS). I have read your letter and welcome
the opportunity to respond.

In 2000, I introduced and Congress enacted the "Immigration
Services and Infrastructure
Improvement Act of 2000." The Act required the Department of Justice to
issue a report to
Congress on the extent of the immigration and naturalization backlogs
and the adequacy of the
agency's automated systems to manage and reduce its pending workload.
The report did not address
all of my concerns, however, and BCIS has not issued an update to its
efforts to reduce processing
delays. Please know that I will continue to raise your concerns with
Eduardo Aguirre, Director of
BCIS.

Thank you again for writing. Should you have any further questions
regarding this issue,
please feel free to contact my Washington, D.C. office at (202)
224-3841.

Best Regards.

Sincerely yours,

Dianne Feinstein
United States Senator

Hi, pathapati,
It's Feinstein's standard letter written by Gina Banks at Washington DC office on Immigration.
I recieved the same one twice on 11/18/2003 and 12/05/2003.

By the way,
you have to contact her San Francisco district office for your individual case.

kashmir

can't we make a campaign for making AP and EAD's valid for atleast 5 yrs or untell your 485 get approved. I think if you will talk like these and when money will stop coming in their hand(USCIS) then and then only they will understand imp. of our 485 approval for which we are approving.

So can we make thim feel with some other way to make our 485 things work fast.?
MY guess if we talk regarding 5 yrs of EAD or AP then they would ask why so long . So we can tell them as 485 is atleast taking 2 yrs on an avg. for a person to get approval and they have to always file some new visas.

485 in 6 months: that should be the only target

Reach_honey
I do not agree with your proposal.
I think that we should focus only one effort: make 485 approved in 6 months (as pres. Bush poposed).
All others efforts (like 5 years of AP/EAD) although very good ideas, they represent just patches to the problem.

I do not want an AP or EAD, I want my GC!!

Request for kashmir..

Kashi,
would you mind giving me fienstaine SFO contact details.for some reason I feel Pete stark{congresman } from freemont is helpful.

Thanks

I agree with yuk1200.
Also, Rajiv wrote:
I think the speed of adjudication is the focus. We should stay on that.
reach_honey's proposal "making AP and EAD's valid until your 485 get approved" may be one of items at lawsuit settlement.
But, extension of EAD and AP cannot solve some issues.

Of course, I understand 3rd EAD renewal is very frustrating.
Sometimes, just AP approval makes someone happy as if one gets I-485 approved.
Actually, I am one of victims of I-131 processing delay, and I know a couple of people in the same situation.
But I believe we should not lose our focus.

Sorry to bring it up in the wrong thread, but pathapati what ever happened about the follow up with Pete Stark? Has there been any further contact? And is there any progress on that situation?

Pathapati,

If you are writing letters to people please get someone else to write them for you.Diane will be unhappy if you chew up her last name. Thanks.:)

140_takes_4ever,
Couple of months ago, after we met Pete stark staff in Newark town hall meeting about green card process delays.

Next time when I visited Pete's office in Fremont, I was told that Pete doesn't want take up Issue with INS on behalf of Immigration.com forum.
She asked me, am I living in Fremont then we can enquire with INS only on your case.

Then I tried to explain them about our meeting with staff in Newark town hall. She got little frustrated and told me that they can enquire about people living in Fremont not other district people.

They enquired my case and gave me status about my RFE in dec 2003, and recently again I approached them about my RFE response, and I got letter from Pete’s office saying that I should wait until end of feb2004 because INS will take 60 days to process cases like mine {if I won't get approval by end of feb2004, I should contact them}.

Thanks

EGGC,
Forgive me for my spell mistakes, Of course I wouldn't send letter to Diane without spell check.

I will be in hurry while tying because my office people monitor all my activities in office.

Thanks

Pathapati,
Don't lose your job by surfing the immigration forums if your employer discourages those activities during work. That is worse than getting a generic reply from Feinstein or a negative reply from the other jack ass, Pete or whatever his name is. It ain't worth it!!:D :D

Thanks for update, pathapati.
By the way, have you received a letter from Pete Stark's office ?

I got letters from Pete's office

Kashi,
I got 2 letters from Pete’s office, first one was received in middle of Dec 2003 about my RFE saying that INS issued RFE on Dec7th, 2003 and I should respond for RFE ASAP.

2nd letter about delay in 485 approvals after INS received my response for their RFE on 485, Saying that I should wait until end of Feb 2004 for approval. Letter says that INS received my response for RFE but they will take 60 days for making decision on those cases.

But I feel whenever we talk to staff their first question are you living in Fremont dt?

Thanks

thanks Rajiv for your compliments.
At time of settlement AP and EAD thinks workout. That should also be great. B'coz every 5 months we need to make donation to USICS for renewal and they do not have any policy's for renewal people. Everytime it starts from beginning. Actually they should allow renewal people to have walking AP and EAD.

But you know this guys are going to do whatever they want.
But we will try.

Yesterday, I wrote that I disagreed with the campaign reach_honey proposed, however it might be interesting.

Today, I read the old USCIS' news release about TPS El Salvador that described:
USCIS published a notice in the Federal Register on July 16, 2003 to automatically extend the Employment Authorization Document (EAD) validity period for six months from September 9, 2003 to March 9, 2004.

USCIS seems to be able to extend EAD without amendment of INA.

Also, Feinsten has always written:
I will continue to raise your concerns with Eduardo Aguirre, Director of BCIS.

How about the campaign to Dianne Feinstein to let her ask Eduardo Aguirre to extend EAD and AP automatically to AOS approval ?
