Can a Legal Permanent Resident apply for Re-entry Permit for the second time ? (First Re-entry Permit got expired on March 2006)

Is there any limit for a Legal Permanent Resident applying for Re-entry Permit ?

Are you going to be gone for a long time or you just want a short trip?

I do not see anything limitating the number of times you apply for a re-entry permit. But, if you keep leaving for long periods of time you are not maintaining residency in the US and that will cause a problem at the POE (whether you have re-entry permit or not).
