HI,

I need some info if you guys can help.

I have Australian PR issues in 15 April 2003 and is going to expire next month April 2008.

I left Australia for good in Nov 2004 and have never been back.
I have lived in Australia for approximately 1.5 years after getting my PR.

I am presently working in one of the top Software organization in the world.
I am working in SAP which I think is field in demand.

I am not intrested in losing my PR but at the same time it is practically not possible for me to go back to Australia in the coming 25 days i.e before 15th April 2008.

Can anyone let me know if there is any way where I can renew my PR from India itself? I am presently located in Pune India.

I really dont want to lose this option.
Please help me out.

reagrds and thanks in advance.
Sachin

I think your best option is to spend 6 more months in Australia thus gaining Australian citizenship which you can't lose, but i have no idea if you can extend your PR from India ... did you check http://www.freehegra.com? they seem to have a team of legal experts who give free advice

Rrv

If you have lived in Australia for some time , usually six months, you can apply for a RRV Returning resident visa.

If he spend 1.5 years out of 5 in Australia, you cannot gain citizenship by staying an extra 6 months. You need to be in Australia for 5 years before you can even apply citizenship.

RRV is an option if you want to go back prior the PR become expired, again-it will only last him another 5 years and if he's staying 0 month in that 5 years, he eventually will lose it.
