Hello, I am on a H-1B visa working for a University. I have grdaute degree from US institution, and my project ends in June 2007. Right now I am seeking jobs in the industry. I am getting some good responses, but they want me to join in march/April 2007. Is there any possibility for me to transfer my H-1B from the University to the industry during this time? What are my options? I need some advice, please do let me know. Thank you very much!!

There is no option to work for industry in March/April if your current H1 is cap exempt. You have to wait for Oct to start working.

Is it possible for the company offering the job to file O1 visa (i guess it stands for outstanding visa)? Its my understanding that with O1, you don't have to wait for H1B-industry ( and therefore can work before october'07).
Good luck.
