Hey guys I'm an asylee, and I'm planning to apply for travel document.For those of u who had applied before, how long do they take to get the result?
 
I think they are processing january 2006 so about 4 months!

They are processing March 2006 cases for RTD...not January...So 6 weeks.
 
OK cool.so I have to wait for the processing month before I can apply?
Or I can apply asap?
What's the RTD like btw?Are we gon get issue an American passport?

Apply now dont wait for anything. The processing dates will always be 1 or 2 month back..they are the dates on your Receipt. So if you sent your RTD application today, and got a receipt tommorow, you will look for the date 04/16 on those processing dates.

It is a green document with your photo and like a passport. In the front it says Department of Homeland Security Travel Document

Its an ugly looking thing.
 
Does anyone know how a reentry-permit looks like and how many people has gotten one under asylee status?

Rentry Permit & RTD look the same from the outside. Inside of the RP, Rentry PErmit and valid date is 2 years.

Refugee Travel Document has a class.it says Class:(ASYLEE, Permanent Resident, Refugee). If you have your GC, it will say Permanent Resident.

They both are ugly looking documents and If I am right, Mexican passport is also same looking so once while boarding this white chick asked me if I was from Mexico..i was like "NO THIS IS A TEMPORARY PASSPORT"...she was like "Y THE WEIRD COLOR"...I was like "Because its Temporary"..
 
I will like to have the rentry permit instead of refugee travel document.. The 2 years is better than 1yr version. The recent just change the color though because i recall my mother had one last year and it was blue color not green..
 
Yes the color was changed like two years ago. They are now made from the same technology that produces U.S. passports.
