Referred to IJ( Court ) after interview

Sorry Lily, to hear that you need to wait that long for the relief.

So, how are you going to survive until 2019. I mean financially...

Are you eligible to get another EADs until Nov 2019? Any idea what is the rule on EAD when case is referred to IJ?
What is your plan?

I know it's been almost 9 years since I made this post, but I have been through a lot that I totally forgot about this thread until I was checking my email today and somehow found the original registration email. I changed my password right away and logged in ! can you guys imagine how long it has been?

Better late than never right?

This is what happened since I made this post back in 2015

We had a very dishonest lawyer who hated us personally and caused our office denial ( we had evidence, and could have used it to sue him) we even consulted with a criminal lawyer and were told that with the evidence we had, we could get his license revoked. But we decided not to waste more time or money on that loser.

We moved forward and hired another lawyer as I mentioned before (just 9 years ago ).

Waited 15 months until we got our court date (which was a routine hearing) I don't remember the exact legal term, but it was that hearing where you submit paperwork and stuff. No testimony or anything.

Our hearing was due in 2 months, then it got rescheduled 3 times in a row! tell me about the stress !

and after years and years of waiting since we submitted the asylum application for the first time, we finally showed up in court early 2018

and the judge granted us asylum in under 2 hours.

we spent the next 2 weeks trying to fathom what had happened, and I kept having nightmares for a very long time, it's the same nightmare over and over .. someone knocks on our front door, I open it .. I see a guy wearing a green uniform and asking my permission to handcuff me.

I try to say no, but somehow I keep saying "yes I agree" .. he cuffs me and then says the worst thing you can ever hear " I could have just left if you didn't allow me to handcuff you, I asked and you agreed," he says it in our native language which gives me chills...and I always wake up sweating and gasping no matter how cold or hot it is. ( Before thinking I'm getting dramatic, I have no benefit of making up a fake story, I'm just telling my story to give you hope )

We didn't waste much time, and applied for our GCs right away, and received it in 2021 due to the pandemic ( issue date is 2020 ).

AND NOW - NOW 9 YEARS LATER !
We are a few weeks ( moths are made of weeks haha ) away from submitting our N-400 (early filling), I keep checking the calendar and still don't believe that I will be an American Citizen soon - 2025 is my year !!! !

I still get the same nightmare from time to time, but I'm getting better as days go by ! and I'm sure I will be okay very soon!
2025 Is gonna be the best year in my life !
