irn, Do you think that NSC approves I-485 on LIN basis? When I look at approved posting it seems like RD and FP have more to do with approval than LIN. Guys, please share you thoughts/observations.

Just my 2 cents:

The LIN number piece (192) you are referring to is the number of working days to the ND from Oct 1st. And hence it is directly related to ND.

FP is also (mostly) issued based on RD/ND. But a whole range of NDs will have same or very close FP dates. Meaning, that FP would\'ve grouped quite a lot of NDs into one number and this may be the reason for us to get the reading that the approval is based on FP.

In reality INS just distributes these cases to different adjudicators based on receipt (or atleast in theory) and the approval happens in a very wide period due to PD, RFE, work load/ human factor of adjudicator, case complexity etc.

In fact during May NSC approved cases from 9/99 to 5/00 RDs, that is a spread of 8 MONTHS!

This is not intended to prove one theory against another.
By now, All of us should know there is no formula to exactly predict
when one\'s approval is going to arrive.
This is only to gather one piece of inforamtion for those who interested. and simply to get the answer of " What is the bigest LIN # ( or ND) that has gotten the approval??"
This is going to tell us NSC moving forward or not.
if you prefer can track FP too.
