Recommended format for employment letter (for AC21)

I recently changed jobs under the AC21 guidelines. A week after my job change (talk about bad timing!), the INS sent an RFE for an employment letter. My lawyer suggests that I send a letter that explains the situation, along with letters from my ex- and current employer.

Does anybody have a recommended format for a verification letter from an ex-employer? I would much rather use something that I know has already worked!

Thanks

No specific format is required

as far as I know , Letter from your ex employer should state the following
1.Joining date and resignation date .
2.Job details (skills like C++ .. etc)
3.salary and title .
(2 and 3 are mandatory)
Respond the RFE with the above info ,last pay stub from ex employer and employment letter from your current employer (same job title, salary ,new pay stubs and job description).

Hope these are more than enough. Hope to see your approval soon.

To my knowledge and what I read on this board, you don\'t need a letter from your old employer. You need to furnish a new letter from your current employer stating the period and willingness to hire you in a permanent position.
The letter from old employer will make sense, if they write they will hire you in a permanent position, and I don\'t think they will do that. The only info you can get is the period you were working for them. That is of no need here, if you are replying to your rfe under AC21 clause.

My lawyer says that it is always recommended that we err on the side of giving the INS as much detail as possible!

What if you are not employed?

WOuld a letter of a new potential employer stating he is willing to employ you help??? Any experience on how much time after providing the letter an approval(optimistic view :)) is received??

Then, you need a good lawyer!

Haim:

I asked the same question and the answer I got was that since AC21 is both new and not very rigorously defined, you could get away with it, but you\'d need a damn good lawyer!

Any other options?

Any other ideas? And by the way Have upu heard how long does it take INS to finish the process after receiving the RFE response?

I\'ve asked the question on another thread and now also at the 180days club at yahoo groups.

Without AC21, I\'ve been noticing approvals in as little as one week after an RFE response.
