I m very naive to US visa issues. My Employer said he has filed for H1 Visa before 15 April 2007, but as of now I ve not received any number to track. I dont know this is proper or not.
Please help me, by sharing your views.

I thnk it should be 15 April 2006 and not 2007. It will take 10 days to obtain a receipt number.

ya its 15 April 2006. What do u mean by 10 days? it is days form 15 April or from today.
I m little bit scared as I ve not received any document till now.

I heard that due to bi-specialization, USCIS is slow in issuing acknowledgements (aka WAC/tracking number)... however the processing will go on based on actual date that USCIS received your application..

The more pressing issue, however, is that CSC seems to be slowing down in processing speed... but that could just be my paranoia typing.

I learned that due to mass volume of H1B cases received, processing centers were taking more time to send reciept notices. usually you should recieve it 10-15 business days but now i don't know how long theyare taking. In my openion if they really applied by April 15th, they should have recieved it by now as it is almost two months. But again that is my openion with my past experiences. Are you already in U.S or some where else? GOOD lUCK.

Thanks for the last two responses. As of now I m outside of US. Is there any way of finding out the status that wheather the appliaction has been filed or not?. This delay has compelled me to think all bad.

1.Check with Employer how applicaiton was sent.If it was sent to fedex/ups you will have tracking number so you can that you find in first place you app is actually filed or not
2.Another way of finding is check the bank checks that was submitted to app and findout whether they were cashed out or not .If they cashed out that means you app is in also back of the check you will have case number some times.Hope this helps

I think New H-1B's are handled by VSC from June30th onwards. You can send it to CSC but it will send it to VSC. I think you should call VSC and see if they have your package. with Premium Processing you should have got approval otherwise they will have to send your 1000$ back to you.

For transfer and Extensions of H-1B we should aply to CSC. Even if we apply to VSC it will be transfered CSC.

See the attachment.
