My parents original time on visitor visa got over last month, but we have applied for 6 months extension.

Now, should I send copies of
1. the original ticket(date of travel was 6 months from arrival into US)
or
2. should I get the airline tickets postponed to another 6 months (total one year from arrival into US) and send those copies?

I know it does not make sense to send #1 above, since the date has passed, but if I send #2, does INS think we had the intention to stay while entering the country and so we had the return tickets booked a year later?

Thanks.

2 should be fine, as you will probably have to buy a new ticket (I don't think any airline would extend your ticket beyond six months).

Thanks,

I hope the immigration officer does not get the feeling that my parents INTENDED to stay in the country for a year even before they entered the country, so had the tickets booked accordingly..

Just my 2 cents.. clearly mark the expired tickets and send it along with the new tickets for 1 year.

Also, Did they request for RFE along with the receipt notice or on a later date you got another letter?

Thanks very much
