I would like to know if anyone has recent experience of how long F1
visa applicants need to wait, because of the TAL-221g i.e. how long
this processing by the DoS takes.
Background:
I am an applicant for a F-1 Visa, applying through the Frankfurt
Consulate in Germany. (I am of Indian nationality - having a non-
muslim name.) The Visa Officer (VO) simply looked at my documents and
handed me the 221g letter telling me that my visa needed additional
processing.
I had my interview on July 2nd, and on July 3rd I submitted some
information like Abstracts etc. to the Non-Immigration Section of the
consulate, by email. When I call up the DoS - they still tell me that
my application is "pending processing".
As regards to the TAL, I am studying in VLSI and Computer
Architecture.
