today I got the 485 approval notice for my wife and myself. what a relief!
Even Satarday I checked the AVM, it still said Jan 17, ...resumed. I just
don\'t believe the mail notices can come before the AVM changes on me. but
it happened! This board has given me a excellent sense of tracking the
485 cases\' status overally. I will get PP tomorrow. thanks very much for everyone sharing his info and feeling. God bless you.

I have a question regarding the approval notice to be receive in mail. I want to know how long(days) does it take to get the approval notice to my address from the day it was approved.

My WAC # is 01-270-50XXX .
I called this afternoon, this was the first time I got in contact with a IIO and she said that it was approved. But, I am in a state whether to beleive or not.

now I want to share the news of my approval with you all.

LC approval : August 4, 2000
I-140 : November 27, 2000
I delayed filling up the forms by 3 Months.
RD : June 20, 2001
ND : August 21, 2001

EAD : November 29, 2001
FP : Scheduled November 20, 2001 ; Done November 3rd
Voice mail : Changed to Finger print collected November 16th
and then Processing resumed December 29th.
Approval : February 21, 2002 ( Received approval letters on Feb 25th)
I landed in the US on Jan 20, 2000 and it took me 2 years 1 month
to get I-485 approval.

Thanks to CIBA and immigration portal.com for doing such an excellent service. Thanks to all the people who contribute to this website on regular basis and all others who have posted their info so that others have some place to see what is going on with the various cases. One can learn a lot from these websites as the diversity of issues which are posted can prepare one to handle the various situations.

After stamping we went SSA office for applying SSN id for spouse and child. At that time when I looked at my SSN card I saw "for work only INS authorization required" on the card. So I asked the lady at the counter and she took the card to replace it with a new card.

I had not seen this information anywhere so thought I will mention it.

Once again a BIG THANKS to everyone who is contributing to these sites.
