Received Plastic Cards

Guys,

I am happy to report that my wife and I received our plastic cards within 5 weeks of our approvals. As some of you may remember, we had our interview and approvals on 5/24/04 at the Arlington, VA local office. We received the welcome letters(I-181) along with my Green card on Monday and received my wife's Green Card today. Interestingly our files seem to have gone to Vermont after the approval instead of Nebraska where we originally filed our 485s. I-181 approvals were mailed out of Vermont and the cards out of Corbin, KY.

I thought I would probably not visit this site very often after the approval, but I dont think that's probably gonna happen. I will keep visiting the site and try to share any information that I may have which can prove helpful to other members.

Once again, I would like to thank each and every person on this forum for all the great information and insight. Thanks to Rajiv for his wonderful efforts to help the immigrant community.

i-181 question

Hello,

Please can you send me the script of the online case status check message for your i-181 #.

I have i-181 # (no reciepts were recieved) but my i-485 is still not approved...

Thanks

Is your i-181 status similar to below or is different? Thanks.

Application Type: I181, CREATION OF RECORD OF LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENCE

Current Status:

Your I181 CREATION OF RECORD OF LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENCE was received on Ocober 1, 2002. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 30 and 60 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.

Gokulanand,

We never had any information about our I-181 before receiving the Welcome letters. Infact we didn't even know what it was. But from the dates it appears that our I-181 cases were created after our interview and approval and approved about a month later. As far as I know, the form you sign during the stamping process is for I-181 and that's when that process begins. I am not sure why you have an I-181 even before your approval, may be yours is not an employment based case.

Congratulations you are a free man now.

Can you share how things are going in the arlington office. I have heard they are moving sometime in august. Did you get a feeling that they are already packed up ready to leave. Not many people working, alot boxes lying around.
I just wanted to know how things were when you went to the office last time. My real question is that if they are still scheduling interviews?? I know you can't answer this question that is why I want to know how things are inside the office?

Thankyou.

Well when I was there on 5/24, the Arlington office looked pretty normal to me. I didnt see any moving signs and the staff was working normally. I am not sure if they are scheduling any interviews, but I read somewhere on this forum that they are moving in August.
