Dear all:
We had a very smooth CP process in Mumbai. Our interview was on Nov.26th, 2001. No surprises at all. We entered US on Nov. 29th and POE was chicago. We received both our plastic cards today..20 days after POE!! I am amazed at the speed at which this happened.
Just wanted to express my thanks to all for sharing their experiences.

First of all CONGRATS on your succesfull CP and POE and reciept of CARD.

Could you tell me what was alien number was stamped on your passport?

If you look at the copy of the immigrant visa that you got from the Mumbai consulate, there will be 2 eight digit numbers.

1) Starting with A #### ####
2) Starting with IV #### ####

What number was stamped for you on the Passport? Please this is important and would appreciate if you could be kind and generous enough to tell me about it.

The oriental guy over there at SFO POE has stamped the eight digit numbers starting with IV #### #### on my passport. I think that was a mistake on his part to do that.

What is the number that has been stamped on your passport?

Passport has A number

hi! Our passport has the Alien number hand written on the stamped page. We did not make copies of the form stapled on our envelope!

Hope this helps. The card, by the way has only the alien number on it.
