Hi,

Both, me and wife had our Interviews in Los Angeles on April 27th. I received my Oath Letter dated may 7th. However, no Oath letter for my wife as yet. I am scheduled for the Oath ceremony next week (May 18 at the Los Angeles Convention Centre). Hope her letter is not lost.
Anyone had similar experience , any ideas. I guess calling the 1-800 customer service number is useless since they will ask her to wait for 90 days.

Thanks

N400 applied (both of us): Feb 13, 2010
Finger Printing (both of us): March 9, 2010
Interviews (both of us): April 27,2010
Oath letter (for me): dated May 7, 2010, received May 10, 2010
Oath ceremony (for me): Scheduled on May 18, 2010

Did you check your case status online to see if there is any changes/differences for you and your wife?
I had interview on the same day with you and your wife, I have not received oath letter and my case status has no change online since Feb. 2010.

Hi,

I dont think the case status changes once the case is transferred to the local office. Both our case statuses still show " Testing and Interview" . I have read from other posts that the case status does not change once the local office is handling it.
Will try and call the customer service

Mingucla,

you should get urs soon hopefully in time for the May 18 Ceremony. My Oath Ceremony is at the LA Convention centre.

Thanks for your quick response. I tried to check my case status and realized that the website is down today.
Yes, my case statuses still showed " Testing and Interview" as of yesterday or Monday.
So you must be right, no changes after case goes to local.
Since I have not received my oath letter, maybe your wife's letter is on the way too.
Good luck to both of us.
Hope see you two at the LA Convention center on 5/18/2010.

It is way too soon to get concerned. Citizenship applications are processed separately and it is common to have one spouse's case take days or weeks longer than the other.

There can be postal delay in getting oath letters and you may get for your wife few days after you. Wait for few days (a week or so) and then act.

Also getting different oath date is always possible. Me and my wife got two different oath dates. Our center does oath once a month so our oaths were 1 month apart. Any thing and every thing is possible with USCIS.

Thanks for the response guys. Since I got my oath letter just a week before the oath ceremony, I was hoping that my wife's letter was not lost if at all they sent it and had also scheduled her for next week with me coz there are just 5 days to go. Anyway, I will just go for mine on May 18 and hope that her's comes in later for another oath ceremony date.

Take her with you. Let her take all her docs needed for OC. Check with USCIS officers about her case. If the letter is missed by USPS you may post a walk in Oath Ceremony experience on May 18th!!!!. Otherwise she can click some shots of your OC. Best of luck

Hi kalinadude, has your wife received the oath letter?
I have not received mine so far.
I do think it is a good idea to take your wife with you tomorrow to check if her letter is lost in mail. If yes, she may be able to take oath with you.

I called USCIS and was told to wait 90 days after the interview before taking any action.

Please come back to this post and update your wife's case if possible. Thanks!

Hi Mingucla..

Did not receive the oath letter for my wife. I have my oath tomorrow.

My wife is accompanying me to the ceremony to take pictures. She will carry her papers and we will try our luck ..though it clearly says that without the oath letter u cannot appear for the ceremony. Anyway, hopefully she will get her's in time for the June 23rd ceremony.

Good luck to you.. Hope u get urs soon.

Will keep u updated on this thread.

Please do likewise.

Just finished my oath ceremony today morning at Los Angeles Convention Center. Very nice experience. Got there at around 7:45 am. Submitted my Green Card and the oath letter to the Immigration Officer. I spotted the officer who took my interview and went to him. He recognized that he had interviewed me. I asked him about my wife as to why she did not receive the oath letter. He said she may get her's for the next oath ceremony on June 23rd ... or else inquire at the LA office about it.
After that we were made to sit in this huge hall and wait for the Judge. Guests were allowed to sit at the back in a seperate area and watch the ceremony. The ceremony started around 9:15 am and lasted around 45 minutes. After that we had to wait to collect our Naturalization certificates. This took a while... almost an hour until I got mine. The earlier u go in the morning, the faster u get ur naturalization certificate since they seat u accordingly. Anyway, was done by 11:00 am ... took some pictures since my wife and daughter had accomplanied me. Also filled the voter registration form. There were guys selling covers for the certificate, souvenier photos etc and ofcourse u could apply for ur passport. I did not since there was a huge line Will go to the USPS post office today and apply instead of waiting in line at the Convention center.
So thats it for me.... Still waiting for my wife's oath letter. Hopefully soon.

Thanks a lot madh4... I will try the 1-800 first and probably schedule an infopass in a couple of weeks if thats needed hoping that she gets in for the June 23rd ceremony. Her case was approved and she was told she would receive the oath letter... so it should be straightforward... Just hope they did not send it out earlier and it was lost in the mail.

Mingucla, did u get ur oath letter?

No, I have not received my oath letter so far. I will update to this post when I get it.
Thanks kalinadude for your updates, really nice details.
Congratulations to you on being US citizen.
Hope your wife receive her letter soon. Please update to this post if possible.

Jacksonville, FL
Me and my wife had citizenship interview on the same day, but my wife got oath letter 2 weeks earlier than me. this is what looks like at Jacksonville, FL
they Do Twice a monht oath cermony.
They take all one month approvals and make 2 groups, one for each cermony with one month gap.
For example, they take all [May] approvals and divide into 2 groups and set up two oath sessions in [July].

Hi joe2610,

Me and my wife had our interviews in Jacksonville, FL on 04/29/2010, I got my oath letter 2 weeks ago: oath date 06/29,
I am still waiting for my wife oath letter.

Could you share when you both had your interviews and what are you oath dates?

Ned

My wife received her Oath letter but I did not

My wife & I did well in 'Test & Interview' (English Proficiency tests & 6/6 in Civics tests) on Aug.03 under 2 different IO's. My wife got her Oath letter on Aug. 27th. to attend the Oath ceremony on Sept. 24 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena but I have not got mine till today. I took an Infopass and met an Immigration officer in the same room as my interview. The officer was unable to give me a convincing answer but told me that he would call me on my residence phone number within a week or 10 days. He also told me that I could get my Oath letter for the next ceremony on Oct. 27 at the Convention Center. I am still waiting for a call from him.

Could I take another Infopass appoitment in the meanwhile ? Is there any restriction on the number or frequency of Infopass appointments ? I do not want to miss out on the next ceremony because I imminently need to make a foreign travel by early Nov.2010. Your feedback will be appreciated.
