FP Received 08/26/01 Scheduled 10/12/01, Did on 10/09/01, Oakland
Received redo notice from Oakland ASC on 11/03/01, scheduled 11/29/01 for my wife.
She got 10 fingers\' "ridge breaks", none of them got "green ok" signel.
The reason of redo notice is said "we recently received fp rejected notice from FBI, for fp is noclassifial" something like that.

Here is my experience after we did fp on 10/09/01.
Call FBI on 10/10/01, they said result back to INS on 10/09/01, didn\'t
tell me it\'s ok or not.
Call INS on 10/15/01, IIO said they did received our FP from FBI, but it
didn\'t tell her it\'s good or bad from screen.
Call INS on 10/19/01, IIO said for some reason my wife\'s FP is not good,
will get notice to redo. My fp is OK.
Call INS on 10/25/01, IIO could not find any info. for my wife\'s FP.
Call INS on 11/05/01, IIO said my case has been assigned to office on
     10/26/01

Hope this is helpful to you guys.
I have a question, will INS approve my case if they have not got my wife\'s FP?

Thanks,

how was the FP approved in the firts letter with NO green ok light.
ask your wife to be watchful till she sees green ok.

ask him to re-apply lotion and then do it , no matter how many times, till it shows green light.
my technitian had to repeat it countless times till hitting green ok.

green light....

what is this green light ? how does the green light work? Is it that if the fingerprint is of acceptable quality then a green light lights??????

Peter please check your AVM

Please let us know what the AVM says for your wife as opposed to your case. This will be very helpful for folks who have done their FP and would like to know based on AVM message whether they are ok. Thanks.

There is no green light that goes on... However....

When a finger is printed the machine processes the print. You will see a bar at the bottom of the screen showing the progress of the processing quite like when you do a download. After the print is processed it displays "pass" in green at the center bottom of the screen if the print is ok. Watch the screen carefully for each finger and ensure that the technician repeats each problematic finger until you see the "pass" message. Hope this helps.

The following may be helpful to you

My first finger print was on Oct. 18, ASC sent second FP notice on Oct. 26 with the next appointment date of Nov. 8 ( but no reasons of finger print re-taken specified in the appointment letter) . On Oct. 30, AVM said that my finger print is collected and pending review. Now still the same message on AVM.

Yours was not a redo notice

It is a duplicate notice for FP that INS prints out to keep the USPS in business.

Hey guys!

My case has been approved on 11/14/01, and my wife\'s case has been transfered to S.F. on the same day according to AVM.

FP done today with a small cut on one of my fingers

FP done as scheduled in San Jose
To my surprise all fingers(including the cut finger) said "Pass" at a single take. Is it a good sign ? Will I get redo notice ? Any guesses Gurus out there.... How come the finger with a cut identified as "Pass" ????
I will update u all after every stage ...

It should be OK

I have a permanent scar on my middle finger. It was pased because it is no the "right side" of my finger. It doesn\'t interfere with the "circle" (I forgot the exact name). I guess your case might be similar. Your cut won\'t cause confusion to the identification of the ridge pattern.

You should be ok, Like I said earlier .....

It also depends where the cut is. If the machine signalled pass, don\'t worry about it. If you are still concerned, call an IIO and confirm in about a couple of weeks. I have the same situation as you with some loss of lines at the top corner of my Thumb. The AVM for me says "FP collected 11/16/2001 and pending review". That message I am assuming, means that the quality is ok. Have a happy Thanksgiving, you guys.

Congratulations and a question...

Did your wife\'s case get transferred after she did her 2nd FP? If so, did she have the same ridge break problem again. The INS 485 Processing Procedures manual says a case should be transferred to the district office if 2 sets of FP\'s come back with "NO IDENT" from the FBI. Let us know.

thanks Humbleman & Dee rod u guys rock

Mr. Peter congrats good luck to Ms Peter Hope she gets approved soon too

Cheers!
