According to my knowledge INS sort the applications
according to the priority date with in the month
they are processing. So if they are processing Oct 99
cases then the people with earliest priority dates
usually get their FP\'s first. But again once they sort
the applications they would give the first 100 to an
officer and second hundred to another officer like that.
Some lucky people on the top of the second stack will
get processed sooner than the applications at the bottom
of the first stack!! even though they have later priority
dates. Hang in there all the October cases get processed
sooner or later. You have to start panicking when they
move to Nov 99 and you still have n\'t gotten yours.

I want to agree with you but here is where it may not be correct about sorting.

PD 4/96
RD 10/14/99
ND 10/21/99
EB3 India

but PD of 9/96 got FP before me. so i donot know what logic they r applying.. I just talk to her and she said there r 18 boxes lot of cases in 99 oct. and it will take 30-60 days to process FP for all Oct 99. she may be lying but who knows..

I am explaining the second part of my logic again.
Once the applications are sorted they are assigned
in lots(stacks) to different Officers. The officers
do not sort again within their pile. So Naturally
people with later dates will get processed if they
are on top of the pile. If you have 500 applications
sorted and then each 100 assigned to a different officer
then 1-100 would go to first officer, 101-200 to the second
officer like that. Then if your position is 50 and some one
is there in with positon 102 he would definitely gets processed
before you.

Ravi\'s logic make sense. To answer your question, Once they start processing, PD doesn\'t matter, I think (It matters probably when it comes to the approval stage; even then it shouldn\'t matter, as long as it is current!). They go by ND and that\'s where yours is getting delayed. Good luck to you.
