Received code 1 notice. What to expect next?

Guys,

I am one of those dinosaurs with ND June 2000 (yes 2000, not 2001 or later).
Last year I was FP'd, photographed, and submitted medical and bio. I thought I was all set; however, turned out that my name check was not complete until very recently. Shortly after that I received the Code 1 notice and nothing else with appointment scheduled for end of February.

Does it mean the process will start over again until I submit Code 1, 2, and 3 bio and medical OR all these Codes are totally independent of each other?
Anyone has any idea what's next in this sequence?

Quick question: how did you get your Code 1 done before the scheduled date?
Can I do the same?
If yes, how?

Yes you can do your Code1 before the scheduled time.Just go to the place where you suppose to do your Code1 and if they ask you your date is not today then tell them you want to do it earlier b/c of you can't do it on the scheduled time.That's what i did.If they don't pay attention don't say anything.

CODE 1 is issued when your FP expire..after 15 months. So everything is done for you, Code 1 was needed to clear your FP again. Once they clear, you will get the approval. Most likely in 30 days after your CODE 1.

Well it depends. If you get a 2nd code 1, the chances are your Name check has been completed but FP still need to be cleared since they have expired.

In the real world, you would get one code 1 which would clear your name and fp in 15 months...but because of the backlog, many earlier applicants like ND 2000/2001 who were FP'd before had to FP again because of the backlog.

I am assuming, ND 2003+ applicants will get name check and FP cleared in 15 months.

I did an FP in 2004 and I assume they sent it for name check back then. The is expired now and I have received another Bio 3. You think they won't send it for name check again then. right?

Hi, Want,

I had my 2nd FP done on Nov. 16, 2005 and I received a letter from CIS recently after I called customer service saying that my name check is open and no decision can be made after the name check is completed. Previously I thought that they would ask for 2nd code 1 only after name check is cleared. Any more comments on this? Thanks again for your help!!!

Usually, its FP CODE 1, then RFI, then CODE 2, then RFE if required, then approval if CODE 1 is not expired.

COde 3 happens if CODE 1 and CODE 2 are both required.

Is your name like very common name? Usually they clear names and then clear FP again if required but you should remember that CODE 1 is automatically generated by the system after 15 months have passed.

I have known people whose code 1 expired but they were approved without a new code 1...

I think your approval is around the corner.

My native name is very common and what is worse that my other name used (English name) is very very common too. Thank you again and I highly appreciate your comments.
