Folks, I received another e-mail update from USCIS this morning.
Current Status :
On September 6, 2006 the card order was completed and we mailed the applicant's new card directly to him or her. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this card, you may wish to verify or update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800)375-5283.
Seems like member cchong is right. My other message that I received back in Sept 01 was for card order & the current one means its over now & also mailed to me. Now it's just days. Man I am really excited.
All this time I have seen other member's e-mail message like this & wondered when I'm going to get one like that. Now it's reality.
It was quite frustrating for me cause I was approved Feb 09, 2006 & now Sept so 7 months. Usually people get their GC right after approval mail & as I had my first bio code 2 done July last year I assumed I don't have to do that part & would be receiving my card sometimes mid or end of Feb but that was nightmare what happened next. As you all already aware of that. Yes, I ended up going for bio for the 6 times including local office while I had my passport stamped. I guess I'm the only one who had to go for bio after approval for this many times.
Anyway, Finally my rainy days are about to be over & I can see sunshine in the blue sky.
Folks who are still waiting regardless what ever ND you got, you all will be free oneday. Just don't lose hope & keep trying your best by staying on top of this. If necessary contact your Senator's office. Congressional interference works better. I said better in a sense atleast that way you would be able to find out the status of your case where else by ourselves it's kind of difficult. I often hear people saying it speeds up the process & I can't fully agree on that issue in everyway but if your case is long overdue than I must say it works.
As far Ombudsman, I tried that but unfortunately never received no response.
About callling that 800 number to USCIS my experience was never too bright. Those information staffs has a basic knowledge about case status, pretty much what we can see through internet. Only thing that I find helpful calling that number is requesting for a status check.
Folks these are all my personal opinions & experiences please don't take this otherwise cause others may certainly have different views & experiences.
As I always mentioned this in my previous posts USCIS don't have any standard case processing procedure also each cases are different therefore all we can share in this valuable forum is our personal experiences.
But since I joined this forum all I can say I have learnt many things & I must stick with this for sometime.
Thanks each & everyone who was with me & still with me by sharing your thoughts, experiences, views, knowledges & mostly the caring attitude towards our whole asylee family.
Best Wishes.
Atique.
