Received actual plastic cards

Folks,
My spouse and I received actual plastic cards and the approval notice paper in the mail yesterday (June 14). The email approval came on June 06 and the email that said 'card order was completed' came out on June 08.

My questions for those who went through this:
1. The cards are not backdated. This seems to be the issue many people are experiencing. Any suggestions on what to do?

2. In the category for my card, it said AS6. For my spouse, it said AS7. Same thing on the approval notice. For mine, it said COA: AS6 and for my spouse, it said COA: AS7. What is AS7? What is the difference between that and AS6? I thought asylee adjustment was all AS6?

thanks,

1. File a form I-90 without fee and ask for a correction.

2. AS6 is for for principal asylees. AS7 is for the spouse of principal asylees and AS8 is for the children of principal asylees.

Congratulations on your approval.

Do you have to send back original GC with application? Anyone's previous experience.
It feels like whenever CIS does something to benefit asylees, it creates another non-sense. NOw this backdating BS...... it usually takes 6 months for replacement card, so we are basically back to square one... like this expedited processing should never have taken place....

Jackdanie7 -
My online status changed after the June 06 email. And after the June 08 (card was ordered) email, it changed again to reflect that the card has been ordered and mailed.

Hampton8844,
You suggested to file I-90 without a fee. My questions are:
1. According to CIS website, you file I-90 without a fee only if it is the mistake of CIS. Can we consider the backdate issue the mistake of CIS? I do hope so, of course.

2. It mentioned that regardless, we have to pay $70 biometric fee. Is this still required if it is CIS mistake? Or is it only the $185 fee that got waived?

3. If we file the I-90 to correct the backdate, will we have to go through biometric and fingerprint again, as suggested by the CIS website?
