Receive Approval notice what's next !!!

Folks, yesterday I received the approval notice through US mail what's next? Could someone please explain the following procedure ? What should I expect next ? What's that Welcome notice people are talking about? What does it say in that notice????? Could someone explain that to me please ? I was approved on 02/09/2006 is it OK that I still didn't receive my GC nor Welcome notice yet ??? Although my Bio is completed July & medical on March last year so no need to do that again. Please share your thoughts & knowledges. Getting restless to receive my plastic. Waited enough for approval now don't want that to repeat as an approval process.

you mean that they wont mail anything for the rest of the day,
I got approved on 6th and got it at 10th and atique got in 9th and fot it at 14

its hard to understand the process with CIS since I dont get it why it takes them so long to give you actual plastic after approval?

I wish I have one of my family members in CIS (work there) and then I could ask them these questions and get rid of the confusion.
Atique I wish you the best luck to getting the actual plastic and I will call them tomorrow to see what else we can do, because I have to travel in 3 weeks.

nasrmobin, did you receive your actual approval letter? What about Welcome notice? Did you call USCIS? If so please keep me posted brother.

2) Hi atique, I have recieved the approval letter but no Welcome letter, I am so confure because I dont know what to do. I am planning to go to Thailand next month and I dont know what to do.
I have not gotten a chance to call them, but tommorow for sure I will give'em a call to see what will happen to me.

I dont get it, why some people get the approval Email which says "we have ordered your card" and on the other hand, we are confuse in middle of no where.
I just want to know if it is really hard to order the card? I wish you could buy it off the POST OFFICE,
 
Atique, I called them in the morning,

1) the system has been changed, they give you thier ID # and at ther very beginning of the call they will start asking you some general questions (My second experience).
2) After all and questions, I told them I have to travel out of country in next month, what should I do? and she basically said that I have to call local office and make InfoPass and talk to them for any temporary or anything else.

I may setup something right now through CIS website to get INFO PASS,
as far as I understand, I not a lucky person. so mine as well better not waste the time and go ahead and see local officer,
I wish you the best luck with the process, but you will get your plastic soon, I will hate it when they call me for BIO :mad: then It will be really bad, but what else we can do, we have to dance with thier trance.

P.S. she read my status online in thier computer and she said that next step will be sending you the card and they will mail it to you, but who know, they have never followed the rules.

Nasrmobin,I'm pretty sure we both will receive plastic very soon. Our main problem got solved & we now are approved so now it's just matter of few days to weeks to receive our plastic. Another thing is we even received our actual approval letter (not the e-mail) so we can always go to local office & ask for help. It is them (USCIS) that approved our case so they must do something.
As you mentioned why some got "Card is ordered" message & some like us " The above application has been approved.............If 14 days........."? As per Wantmygcnow in the sticky what USCIS nitices mean he said our message means IO has approved our case but still didn't order the card yet so we receive that message but if an IO is really active he/she approves the case & don't wait but go ahead & place an order for the card right away that sends the applicant "Card has been ordered........" message. But that don't mean we have to be panic brother. The key thing here is WE ARE APPROVED.
Now even one needs to do a BIO that's no problem either since the IO already approves the case it is now his/her full responsibility to get that done ASAP cause IO knows what ever actions need to be taken done by 90 days (That's what I have seen in the approval notice). Now since you are going to Thailand so you need that quickly but I'm positive there must be a way for local office to solve your problem since it's an approve case. Don't forget you are no longer an asylee but in a legal PR status now. As I think & mentioned in my earlier posts it all time that takes for us to get an approval but once it's approved things are plain & simple. After being receiving approval mail I started looking at previous threads in this forum to see how long it usually takes an applicant from approval mail to receive actual plastic & in most cases it was 2/3 or worse 4 weeks. I have seen very few exceptions but that's very seldom & I don't consider that exception as fact. See the problem with USCIS is them IO's don't maintain standard procedures so it varies differently from one case to another & that's what makes us panic & more nervous thinking he/she received within 1 week how come mine is not yet ready? I wish they would have maintained the same procedure for all, that way we won't have not so many unanswered questions & confusions. But in a nutshell don't worry WE ALREADY CROSSED THE LONG OCEAN & AT THE SHORE, now just waiting for our rides to get there to take us home sweet home. By the way I didn't mean COP here just used that an example.
I must keep you posted with any progress but trust me we'll be receiving plastic very soon.

Atique, I really appreciate your concern about my case.
I am sure that you have experienced a month before you travel some where, time passes by and you have not done anything. I have not bought my ticket but I am going to, but I have done my other stuff and have taken care of them like taxes and FAFSA for school and etc. So this thing is the last one, I hope it will arroive soon at least before my trip.
In you post your said that USCIS does not treat all the people the same way, but believe me people who are working there, they dont have the same experience so dont expect the offices to be the same, some lazy and some smart and knowladgable just exaclty how it is in our life.
So I hope everything will go smooth forever for all of us,

BTW, I forgot to mention that i did set-up InfoPass for Feb. 27th . I hope these nice people will help me with something. They should have hire some managers from the post office for the CIS to manage the applications process (J.K.)

Mondays are my best day in a week because you have still 4 more days toward the end of the week.

Nasr, please keep me posted about your infopass thing on 27TH Feb. Although I have a good feeling you may receive your plastic before that & finally you don't have to be there at all. But if incase it don't just keep in touch. Good luck brother & you still have a whole week before 27TH. So there are good posibilities you & I both will receive something before that.
