I filed for my citizenship recently and got my receipt from USCIS. It says 'Receipt with Exception'.

The note on the receipt is:

Missing Evidence(s) - your application was missing evidences that you will need to provide at the time of your naturalization interview. You will be notified under separate notice of the necessary evidence(s) that you will be required to bring to your interview.

I understand I need to bring tax returns etc for the interview but when filing the initial application the M-476 document checklist said you need to submit the following:(I didn't apply on the basis of marriage so that part does not apply to me and I do not have children from my earlier marriage and am single now)

1. A photocopy of both sides of your Permanent Resident Card (formerly known as the Alien Registration Card or “Green Card”).
If you have lost the card, submit a photocopy of the receipt of your Form I-90, “Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card;”

2. Two identical color photographs, with your name and “A-number” written lightly in pencil on the back of each photo. For details about the photo requirements, see Part 5 of A Guide to Naturalization and the Form M-603 instructions distributed with your application.
Do not wear eyeglasses or earrings for the photo. If your religion requires you to wear a head covering, your facial features must still be exposed in the photo for purposes of identification;

3. A check or money order for the application fee and the biometric services fee for fingerprinting, as stated in the M-479, Current Naturalization Fees enclosure in the Guide. (Applicants 75 years of age or older are exempted from fingerprinting and the biometrics
services fee). Write your “A-number” on the back of the check or money order.

4. Proof that all earlier marriages ended-divorce decree(s), annulments, or death certificates(s);

5. You must send the $675.00 fee with your application. Pay the fee with a check or money
order drawn on a U.S. bank payable to the Department of Homeland Security.

Here is what I submitted. What did I miss?

1. Application for Naturalization
2. Continuation Sheet -Annexure to Part 7C Page 4 (Time outside the United States)
3. Continuation Sheet -Annexure to Part 10 Page 8 (Good Moral Character)
4. Abstract of Driving Record from Department of Motor Vehicles – 2 pages
5. Copy of Judgment of Divorce – 4 pages
6. Copy of Permanent Resident Card (both sides)– 1 page
7. 2 Color Photographs
8. Money Order for US $ 675.00 payable to the Department of Homeland Security

Thanks

If you answered "YES" to any good moral character questions (Part 10, Section D, Questions 15-21), then your receipt would automatically include the "missing evidence" statement. For instance, if you disclosed traffic violations on your N-400, then the "missing evidence" statement would automatically be included.

But I did include the DMV official records as evidence for the traffic tickets I got. Are they looking for some other evidence?

It doesn't matter. As long as you answer "YES" to any moral character questions, the "missing evidence" statement is automatically printed on your receipt.

As far as traffic ticket evidence goes, you didn't have to submit it with your N-400. Bring it to your interview and you'll be fine, as long as none of your tickets are DUI/DWI and/or over $500.

:( I guess that means I have to go to every town court to get records of traffic tickets I cleared.

I received same thing. I checked Yes to citation tickets on N-400 and detailed my traffic violations on N-400. When I submitted my N-400 applications, I didn't include my proof of payments for tickets since they were non-dui/dwi tickets and were fined less than 500 dollars. I know the "missing evidence" statement is automatically printed on your receipt when only "Yes" is checked whether you include supporting documents like traffic tickets or proof of payments or not. You can bring tickets and proof of payments to the interview. Yes, you should get the court driving records that show that citation ticket is paid. you should get the dmv/mva driving records that show that you have no points.

I had interview and interview officer asked me if my tickets are fined more than 500 dollars and dwi/dui tickets. I said no and show my driving records and she just glanced at them (didn't read my whole driving records because she knew that I was under oath and told the truth). She passed my interview.

Hope this helps.

I do have 2 points on my license although all tickets are paid and none are dui related or over 500$. Will that cause a problem?
