Receipt Number for Filing in San Francisco

Hi!

I am a US citizen and I filed for I-130, I-485 and advance parole for my wife at the San Francisco office at the beginning of February. My attorney tells me that SF will not send out any receipts for the case along with a receipt number. Is this true?

If so, how do I track the progress of the petition without a receipt number?

Thanks
Kaushik

There is no way but wait until they send you something or if you are waiting too long for something, take an infopass appointment and go there and do your query.

same problem here

los angeles too no longer sends out receipt numbers.

you can go to uscis.gov and go to processing dates. that will give you some idea of how long it will take.

also they have to send you something within 90 days. That is the date you are suppose to receive the ead card.

so get a calendar and count off 90 days from the date they received your application. Also continue counting another 90 days. That should be the date of the interview if everything works out right.
