Receipt Date vs Notice Date question

I talked to IIO this morning and she told me that they are processing May cases then I asked her if it was Receipt Date and she told that they use Notice Date to processes the cases.

Is this true?

I-485 cases

My receipt date is june 7 2001 and notice date july 24.

I called may 10 and I asked about my case status then IIO told me that they are processing May cases and my will take another 2 or 3 months since my notice date was on july.

I allways thought that receipt date was the date they use to process the cases.
