Receipt date and Priority date- the same?

I filed for my wife I 130 7 months ago. I got the form with receipt number with receipt date but no additional letter from USCIS indicating priority date. Is the receipt date considered as the priority date?

Are you a US citizen? If you are, then your file does not need a priority date because visa numbers are immediately available for spouses of US citizens.
