Reapplying N400 - Need Help

Hi All,

I am reapplying for citizenship as my application got rejected because of timeline. The green card showed a different date to the database and the application rejected at the time of interview.

Now I am reapplying and want to know, if in the application is there any place to say I am reapplying and explain the reason for rejection. Also, do you guys think i have to go through all the steps again?

Your help is really appreciated, thanks in advance.
 
There are no questions on N-400 about previously applying for citizenship.
You'll need to go through all the steps again as it is a new application.

How much discrepancy in timeline was there between GC and USCIS system?

Thanks for your reply. 16 months was the discrepancy. Is it a good idea to be proactive and put a affidavit explaining the reason of rejection with the new application. Please suggest.

If there are anyone who was in same situation,lease let me know your experience.
 
My situation varys some from yours in the fact that I got denied,, but due to a break in continious residence back in 2001.

I have recently reapplied and no I did not mention my previous denial because it is not asked in the application AND because they have my records in their file so they already know, what happened.

In your case its the same they have the records in your file and they already know what happened so no need to for affidavit or for explanations,, in the off chance they have a question about it they will ask you at interview BUT most likely they will not mention it.

All this provided you are NOW filling with the correct timelines (not to soon again ).

I can reapply on Apr 28, 2009. My question is, will my citizenship go any faster this time, since I have already went through it recently?

Interview Date 11/20/2008 Done, had to withdraw,since I applied a little early bec of wrong Resident Since date on my GC

Previous (rejected/denied) applications have no effect on the processing time of future applications since you must go through all the same steps again.
