In the event a company cannot offer you the job once you get your i-485 approved and <180 days have pass, what options does the applicant have? If the company is doing bad $$$ due to bad real estate market for example?
 
I am not RC.
But if your company laid you off after the day you got your GC. There is nothing to do with you and you are a FREE FREE Man. Besides, you will need to get another job (from any field or even make up your own hot dog booth) you are FREE.
 
Also what does it means NAme check has been approved? The IO just said that, she also said as soon a visa number is available they might allocate
 
I worked with them for 4 years. The laid me off, but offered me to keep going with the GC (every one was hoping real estate got better) but I dont know how they are doing now. Bad, I would say. What if they can not take me back?
 
I was ready to call all my friends, mother sisters mother in law etc and start organizing a party... Thanks :D well... I guess just will keep on waiting till the day i get it :D
