READ if your FP date is 12/24/07

The local office told me they are closed all over on 12/24. The FP letters were sent in error and she said that new letters will be sent soon (she already requested that they reschedule all people for our local office). I am assuming this will be the case for all people with 12/24 date from all offices.

Try to go early or the week after if you wish to get it completed.

I guess the IL I received for 12/25 is bogus too? Just kidding. :D:D:D:D

But seriously, I can't believe USCIS would screw up on sending FP notices like this..then again, I don't expect much from USCIS these days.

I had my fingerprinting scheduled for 12/24 but today I got a letter in mail that it has been rescheduled for 1/4/2008 :mad::mad: The format and contents of the new letter is totally different than the original FP Notice -

----------- Original FP Notice ------------/ New Rescheduled FP Letter

1. called --- Fingerprinting Notification ----/ ASC Appointment Notice

2. mention - Fingerprinting at all places ---/ Biometrics everywhere
-----------------------------------------/ (no mention of fingerprint)

3. mention - if can't make it on that date --/ if can't make it on that date
------------ can appear on any following --/ application will be abandoned
------------ wednesday same time

Anybody else had their FP rescheduled?

I noticed that your FP appt was also on 12/24 but you walked-in on 12/12. Didn't they have any issues with you walking-in earlier or did you call them up and make the appointment? Did you appear at the same time as the 12/24. Could you please describe what happened when you went? - like they saw the FP letter and asked me to come back later or wait for the new appt letter, etc.

I simply walked in and they did my fingerprints.
The lady in charge said they will send rescheduling notes to people who were assigned FP appointments on 12/24. The lady said if I receive a letter I should ignore it.
I got one that is similar to yours. It asked me to go to KC office on 1/3/08.
I called the customer service and they confirmed that biometrics are same as FP.
However, since i live near by, I might just pass by to make sure.
And no need for you to call. Just walk in.
 
pass by what? You just did it. They did reschedule you before you did your finger print and they are just covering their mistakes by sending you another paper. I wouldn't even bother. You have your FP letter stamped and you are fine.
note: I am not your mom so don't listen to me. I don't take any respomsibility if something happenes.

Just to let you know, you have to go days and hours that they are in low volume customers. I went Tuesday at 3:00 PM and I didn't see anybody there. Two families and two singles. They say Wedensdays are good as well.
You come-up with a reason like: I was scheduled for 12-24 and then they changed it to 01-03-08 and I am on vacation by that time and I can not make it. Is there any possibility I can do it as walk in? they usually check and say come in. Comeup with an excuse that you can say it strongly. You should be fine
 
I think bush last week signed a memo letting all federal offices to be closed on 24th as well. So this might be the reason.

Anyway i wish someone signs a memo to process pending appln faster
 
They won't sign such a thing ever because we have to have somthing in our life to be worried about.
