Wow. Lot of demand & Random selection.

I wonder how it will impact current immigration bill discussions and decisions...

.....
USCIS will now use a random selection process for all cap-subject filings received on April 2, 2007 and April 3, 2007.
....

Finally! they are stating openly they will use random selection!
Maybe now DOL will also admit they were using random selection for LC approvals all this time! :)

This is good. Pressure will increase from businesses. H1B/EB GC is combine issue. This will certainly draw the attention of lawmakers and media. I hope, this will reinforce argument of businesses about urgent need for the reform of H1B/EB GC.

Big Box companies are only worried about H1b ... they NEED fresh guys coming out of the US Schools .....

They will win and H1b visa number will rise .....

EB GC .. they do not care much .. why should they .. they can get guys either on EAD or extended H1b.

Had there been no EAD and if H1b would have expired after 6 Years ... YES .. big box companies would have fought hard to increase the EB visa numbers...

But, who is applying for H1B - 150K???

Is it TCS/INFOSYS/WIPRO/SATYAM companies applying en-masse for all their employeers for on-site deployment? My bet is 120K of these must be from them....the only huge surge in the last few years - has been offshoring of projects....

If the shortage was really that genuine....I am sure folks here --- would have been working at $100/hr and not $50-60/hr....Does the IT Industry really need that many folks right now??? WHOM ARE THEY KIDDING!!!!
