Re-scheduling Biometrics Appointment

I was so happy when I got my letter last week and my Biometrics schedule is on a Saturday - I don't have to miss work! I was so confident that my daughter's schedule will be on the same day, as it was in our AOS stage. But her letter came yesterday and her schedule is next Tuesday. As much as I am thrilled about getting it sooner than expected, she cannot make it because she has a group performance on that day - something she and her group has been working on for weeks.

If i want to re-schedule, I need to mail that letter out by tomorrow. I am considering walking in on Friday or Saturday. Any advice?

Thanks!

Walk in would work without a doubt

Wifey246,

Please do not make this mistake of requesting USCIS to reschedule our daughter's FP. The good thing is your FP is scheduled for Saturday. Please go ahead and take your daughter along with you and request the security guy at the gate to let your daughter do an early FP since you both may be leaving out of town the next day (Sunday) and won't be back until the next wknd may be. Request him if he could take both of you in at the same time. I don't see it a problem at all. My wife got her FP apptt for July 17th, but we were able to do a walk in FP for her last Saturday July 5th with no problem. Give it a shot.

Thanks!

I'll try it on Friday. If I'm out of luck, I'll try again on Saturday.

My schedule is on July 26th so I don't want to wait until then, because she might be considered no-show. I'll try to get my own biometrics taken early too.

Your Location

Are you in Atlanta? I mean what's your local office where you have to go for FP apptt?

As it was said above, don't reschedule it.
Just give them a reason why the prints have to be taken earlier and in most of the cases they will accomodate you.
I had my prints taken 1st time and they failed - poor quality, I'm sure it was done intentionally.
Second time I got a FP letter, my spouse had to re-schedule it for me, because I was out of the country.
Third time, then I got the FP letter, I just changed my tickets and flew back to the USA and went to a different ASC to have my prints done.
I was told that the quality is quite poor and the chance is very low. I called FBI FP couple of days later and they said that FP test was passed and results sent back to USCIS. Hope I can trust their info, becaise at least at USCIS the right hand doesn't know what the left one is doing...
So just have your prints done ahead of time. Good luck!

Thanks! I'll give it a try.

I hope the guard, or whoever's hands rest my getting into the ASC, will be having a good day.

Walk-in success

We went to the ASC office around 10 am last Saturday, July 12 (My daughter's sched is July 15th and mine is July 26th) The guard asked if we have an appointment, and I said it's not until July 15th. He asked if we want to re-schedule. I said we were hoping they can squeeze us in. Then he checkd our IDs, stamped the letters, and gave us numbers and forms to fill up. My husband went in with us.

We weren't even finished with the forms and they were already calling our numbers. They said it's been real slow lately. They let my daughter re-take her picture several times until she's happy with the result. When it was my turn, they let my husband observe and they chatted for a while about how the fingerprint machine works and what those numbers on the screen mean.

It's definitely a YMMV.

Yeah, most the time if you show up with the proper ID they will let you take the biometrics early(In Tampa at least). It's good they let you!

I told you :)

I actually got my date wrong and turned up 2 days late and they did my stuff anyways
so I would go along to the center and see what they can do

if they are not busy you might be in luck

I was early in the morning and it was the charleston center, in and out in 20mins!
