Till this afternoon, I was one of thousands of hopeful would be permanent residents waiting for our I-485 applications to be approved. I used to visit this forum but never had anything new to talk about. I guess in one sweeping moment that changed. Got the approval notices in mail this afternoon.
Would like to share the details:

Case originally filled in July 1997
I-485 Receipt Date: 24 Sep, 1999
Finger Prints: 01 Dec, 1999
I-485 Approval Date: 26 Feb, 2001
SRC 99-272-XXXXX
Had two dependents cases approved too!
Can\'t think of a good way to close this message. All I can say, hang in there. The approval notices are magically going to appear in your mail box one day. For us, it was an exceptionally long road. It finally happened in our 13th year in the US, an undergraduate and two graduate degrees later.
