My wife was in US on H1B for 5 year. She went back to India and came back on B1 visitor visa after 2 years. We got married in US and she changed her visa status to TD (dependent visa for spouse of Candian citizen working in US). She is hoping to getting Job offer in her field soon.
Could any tell me if she can start working as soon her H1B visa application is filed by her employer (i.e in April 2007) rather than wait till Oct 2007 when visa is actually issued.

No she can't if she filed it under quota.
She MAY be able to file w/o quota(talk to lawyer if you want to go down this path), but in that case, she can work only for 1 year and she still need to wait for H1 approval before work.
