re fingerprints

rather it is that they can't approve cases with FP's that are expired..[FP's in Feb/Mar02] and since Apr02 FP's are still valid, they are considered for adjudication/approval

I have also been tracking few series and I found out that all the Jan'02 RD approvals with FP on Apr'02 or May'02. No approvals with March'02 FP date, it is unfortunate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did my FP on 03/14..

But you guys haven't received second FP notice too, right? See, they are so stupid, they should
have an automatic system to identify FP expiration
and schedule you for an appointment. But they don't. I don't know how it is handled, but it's definitely stupid.

yes, i have not received second notice. When I spoke with an IIO late May, she told me that my FP would expire on June 7 and will receive a second notice. but, nothing so far!!!!!!!!!
It is really annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same thing happens to me, Sanrishi. I guess our cases were assigned to officer before expiration, However, if it was assigned, then it's more difficult to trigger second FP notice. I guess officer has to discover your case first, then send
back to distribution office, and they accumulate certain numbers of cases, and send out the notice.
It's just bad luck.

it sounds more troubles for us..................
Guys, Please follow the approval pattern and share the info here if you find approvals with Mar'02 FP date

I don't think anyone with Dec 2001 RD and Feb/March 2002 FP has been approved. So they are going to send us all notices to do the FPing again. This is again going to create a backlog. For Dec 2001 RD's they approved those with Apr/May/June FP. Now I am expecting approval in Oct/Nov this year (if I am lucky). Just don't know why BCIS consistently refused to approve those applicants whose fingerprints expired early. Very confusing.

RD 12/26/01
FP 3/30/02
RFE Recd by BCIS 6/24/03
No 2nd FP notice yet

I did the 2nd FP this morning although scheduled on July 31. My experience is as follows.

I arrived the BCIS at 8:20am. After checking the FP notice and my passport, a women receptionist asked me "have you been here before?", I said "yes, March, 26 last year". She asked me about the receipt of 1st FP and I gave it to her. Then, she brought my documents to an office. Two minutes later, a man came out of the office and called my name. He told me that my case was cleared by FBI and it is valid for 15 months. I said "The 15 months has passed and the FP has expired". Then the man asked me to wait on line to take a 2nd FP.
That's it.

This could be true. They don't know what to do with people whose fingerprints were taken in Feb/Mar 02. If they issue 2nd FP requests for these people, it will only cost them more money to get the FP results checked by the FBI. So 'best' thing they can do now is do nothing on these expired-FPs cases, and work on cases whose FPs are not expired.

People with FPs taken in Feb/Mar 02 should pursue via their lawyers to kick BCIS to do something with their cases!! Seriously ...

gys it is very scary, no 2nd fp yet, did the first one in march, the lawyer say they will not approve the case until the new fp is done.

I think if your case is assigned to officer and it's expired FP, officer go on to other cases
and after a while, send your case back to some other department to arrange the finger print redo, that can cause sometime. However, if the officer
thinks you need a RFE, then you won't get second FP, but a RFE first + a second FP later. That's even worse.
