re Extension of H1B - during 485 process + PCee & Ciba update the list

hi everybody,

I was a regular reading member of the board. I never posted a message before.
I live in california (LA) and my recipt date of 485 is 09/10/01 and notice date is 09/25/01 ,
WAC-01-294-XXXXX , EAD + AP + FP cleared for me & wife nearly 12/15/01,
currently -> FP recieved and processing has resumed.
PCee And ciba please add my case to your sept traking list

Me and my wife live in diffrent state She also has an H1B.
I am the primary for GC processing and have lot of time left on h1B.
Her H1B is expiring in June 02. Her company has offered for an H1-B extension.

I want to know advantages/disadvantages for {H1B extension} / {work on EAD}
for my wife. Or It is going to create an addition complication, you know INS.
Gurus please advice.

i dont think.. u can apply for h1-b extension unless

you have atleast 1 more year for your h1-b visa to expire. if you have completed all your 6 years, then the 7th year extension is possible only if you DONT have an EAD. If you have a EAD it surpasses any kind of extension as it is extendable till a decision is made on your case. in case you would like to travel outside the country then you should have your AP ready. all this from my attorney...

this is for my wife - we live in diffrent ins service centre california & texas

This h1-b extension is for my wife. We live in diffrent INS service
centre. I have 2 years to go on my H1b and she was earlier 1 yr on h4
amd then 3 years on h1. her H1 is suppose to expire in june.

I read some where you can still apply for h1-b extension.
Even you have an EAD but if you work on ead/go out of USA
the H1b has no longer active.

In worst case if my 485 gets rejected we can apply again
keeping my wife as primary. If her H1-B is extended

please advice
