Hi everyone...
If someone can shed some light on reenrty permit timing. I have been a PR since Nov07. Have made 2 short trips to US from Canada looking to start a business and finding work. However...it seems that due to our personal situation and my son's education here...we may not be able to move for at least 1.5 to 2yrs. We are going to apply for re-entry permit ASAP.
However..the question is if the reentry permit takes time and is not approved by Nov 08 but later in 2009 ...which I believe could be possible...does that jeapordize our GC status since the one year outside the country expires in Nov 2008.
Can we say at the POE that we have applied for re-entry permit but have not got approval yet. Do the border agents look at it as some indication that at least we do not intend to abandon our intention to return. We dont have a problem travelling to the US even if it is once a month for a few days since we are in Canada.
Thanks !!
