Re-entry permit question

Hi,
Is continuing school abroad is a valid reason for a re-entry permit?
Let say someone obtained a DV visa but still working on his degree (past hi-school) back home, can the person request a re-entry permit to go back home and finish his degree?

That depends on the time you were out of the US already. Usually, you will get your first RP and might get the second one.
 
If we get our green cards, is it possible to take my kid(s) to my home country and then bring them back say after two or so years; does the kid's green card become invalid under those circumstances?
 
After one year out of US GC becomes invalid for everybody except possibly for those who have an RP. But under certain circumstances they could get a returning resident visa (SB-1). It could be easy to get it for kids under 16, if their both parents live in the US with GC.
 
Re-entry Permit - Fee!

Hi,
I need to apply for re-entry permit (N-470) for me and my wife. I am wodering, how much fee I need to pay (application fee is $305). Do I need to submit two different applications? or a single application with my wife information on it?

Your info is really worth of 305 dollars.

rejection notice

hello!
im a new register here..
as i read all the messages in this account, i would say that it helps a lot!

is there anybody knows about the rejected application because of improper filing fee?
i just received the I-797 this day (Nov. 21) and they rejected it.

anybody knows when will i receive again their response for my biometric appointment since the Notice date was Oct. 31, 2008 and my application is expedited
